Breitling’s partnership with the aviation industry has been around almost since the brand’s inception. Its pilot watches are iconic products of the brand, and the Navitimer is undoubtedly the best of them. The Navitimer was launched 70 years ago, and as a Singaporean publication, we are very excited to see this collaboration with our national carrier, Singapore Airlines. The watches will be sold exclusively through the airline’s retail store, KrisShop, which offers online products or in-flight shopping. KrisShop has also launched a selection of Breitling watches in its catalogue. These watches can also be purchased using Krisflyer miles.
The dial of the ‘Navitimer B01 Chronograph 41 Singapore Airlines Limited Edition’ is in Singapore Airlines’ distinctive blue hue, and the crown is engraved with the Singapore Airlines logo. The dial and caseback of the ‘Navitimer Automatic 38 Singapore Airlines Limited Edition’ are in blue, and are engraved with Singapore Airlines’ iconic batik pattern. Available exclusively at KrisShop, the watches are part of the Batik Label concept store, which showcases one-of-a-kind collaborative pieces that feature intricate floral motifs that have become synonymous with Singapore Airlines.
NAVITIMER SINGAPORE AIRLINES LIMITED EDITION
For 70 years, Breitling’s original pilot’s watch has been a favourite with aviators and fashionistas alike. From astronauts to the brightest stars on Earth, this watch is Breitling’s most iconic timepiece. This year, Breitling celebrates this legend with a new Navitimer design that retains its most classic features while elevating them with modern refinements.
The Navitimer B01 Chronograph 41 Singapore Airlines Limited Edition is unmistakably a Navitimer, with a round slide rule, baton hour markers, three chronograph counters and a grooved bezel for an easy grip. It also features a flat slide rule and a domed crystal for a more compact form factor.
The oscillating weight has a slimmer profile, enhancing the open caseback view of the Breitling Manufacture 01 movement, which is certified by the Swiss Official Observatory (COSC). This movement, which comes with a five-year warranty, offers a power reserve of approximately 70 hours, and the wearer can change the date at any time (now visible through a concealed window on the subdial at 6 o'clock).
Meanwhile, the Navitimer Automatic 38 Singapore Airlines Limited Edition offers an automatic alternative to the 41 in a more refined 38mm format without a chronograph.
Its Breitling Caliber 17 provides a power reserve of approximately 38 hours. The watch features a beaded bezel and a special caseback engraved with the famous Singapore Airlines batik pattern.
Both watches are presented on an elegant stainless steel bracelet. The caseback of each watch features the Singapore Airlines logo and the limited edition number "One of 100".
